I received an e-mail from them, which I then passed to a recruiter. They scheduled a phone screen, and subsequently, I was given a take-home exercise for a REST web app.
I spent an entire weekend working on the project. I wrote production-level code, included comments, and meticulously checked and re-checked the instructions. I even added all the bells and whistles to make it stand out.
Three days later, I received feedback stating they would not proceed. The reason given was entirely unrelated to any of the instructions provided. It was incredibly frustrating to be penalized for following their exact rules after dedicating days of hard work, time I could have spent relaxing.
This was a very bad experience, and I would never apply again.
