In September 2020, a recruiter from DoorDash contacted me. The recruiter described the interview process and asked for my availability for an hour-long phone interview. I scheduled it a couple of weeks later. It was a standard algorithm interview.
One day later, the recruiter got back to me, mentioned the first interview feedback was positive, and transferred me to another recruiter to help with the next steps of the process. The second recruiter asked me to provide availability for the virtual onsite interview. I again scheduled it a couple of weeks later.
The first recruiter mentioned that the second recruiter would help me understand the virtual onsite interview process, but I never received any communication from the second recruiter other than scheduling the virtual onsite. Just one week before my virtual interview, the second recruiter emailed me to see if I could interview the very next day. It seemed they had no consideration for my schedule.
I replied that I was not available to have the interview the very next day. It felt like something was not right, and my suspicion proved true on my interview date when a couple of interviewers seemed completely reluctant to conduct the interviews. It seemed they were doing something else during the interview.
I believe the position was filled before my onsite interview. Once the interview was completed, I never received any decision or feedback. I spent more than a month preparing for the interview. I believe it would have been nice if they had let me know the position had already been filled instead of just wasting my time.
Based on the earlier interview review, it seems DoorDash is completely ignorant of interviewees' time and effort.
