A recruiter reached out to me, and we scheduled a call. When the time came, they sounded completely disinterested.

They ran down a list of questions, just checking things off one after another. These were generic, standard recruiting screen questions. It was a weird and robotic interaction, especially considering they reached out to me. I understand that a recruiting screen is part of the process; I was just put off by their demeanor. I suppose I'm used to recruiters trying to sell me on a position when they initiate the conversation, whereas in this case, they didn't seem to care one way or the other.

I figured I'd do the CodeSignal online assessment anyway. It was a question people often report getting for the Dropbox OA. I actually thought it was a pretty fun and interesting challenge, though I screwed up a bit and wasted time tracking down a mistake.

I was rejected a couple of days later.
