Software Engineer Interview Experience - San Francisco, California

Process

They send a HackerRank challenge to everyone who applies on their career website. After you complete the challenge, they will review your resume and decide whether or not to proceed with the candidate.

I completed the HackerRank and got the answers correct (the platform indicates whether your code passes the tests). However, I was still rejected without a phone interview, despite holding a BS, MS, and PhD in Computer Science from a top-5 university. This felt like a waste of time. I would be hesitant to work for a company that does not value the time of its applicants.
