Process

I was referred by a current employee and was set up for a technical phone screen.

It was just bad. I hated the interviewer; he was mean and kind of impatient. He didn't let me finish my answers and didn't interpret them well.

He asked a variety of questions, covering data structures, algorithms, and pointers.

Then, he went over my resume to ask questions about a project I did in school.

Questions

Given an integer p, how do you find the value it is pointing to? What is p in this case?

What is the difference between C and C++? How do you declare an array of 5 characters?

What is a Hash Table and what are its complexities? What is a balanced tree?

What do you do to an insertion sort to get a runtime of O(1)? When inserting an element into a sorted linked list, what would its runtime be?

What is polymorphism? Give an example. What is the difference between private inheritance and protected inheritance?
