Software Engineer (Gameplay) Interview Experience

Process

I was approached by a technical recruiter on LinkedIn about an open position.

Overall, the process took about 3 weeks with a total of 4 interviews.

The first interview was a simple HR screen explaining the role to gauge if I was interested.

The following week, I had a 1-hour technical interview with the technical director. I was asked some generic questions regarding C++, memory management, and tested on some fundamental math (linear algebra).

The week after this, I had my final 2 interviews, each one hour, where I was asked various technical and behavioral questions.

Overall, this was one of, if not the best interview process I've ever been through. The recruiters and HR were extremely responsive and respectful of my time. The interviewers were extremely friendly, and most of all, the interviews felt like genuine conversations instead of the typical "leetcode" style questions.

Questions

Be prepared with strong C++, multithreading, and math fundamentals. The general sentiment I got was that EA values your experience more than anything. The large majority of questions that I was asked related to my past work listed on my resume.
