Pros

A very laid-back place to work. Everyone is typically excited about their work and excited to work together.

The benefits are good, with good healthcare, free games, and plenty of time off, including a seasonal shutdown between Christmas and New Year.

There is a great company-wide push for building an inclusive culture.

Cons

At higher levels, getting promoted or recognized is difficult unless you impress the correct people.

Pay is somewhat low, but OK for the Orlando area.

Management tends to be short-sighted, only focusing on the current product.

Work-life balance is OK most of the time, but could be better. It is up to the individual to manage it, but there are times when more time is asked annually.

Advice to Management

Listen more. Include engineers more in decisions made with product owners. Find the middle ground. It seems like product decisions need to either be the best for the current product or for 5 years down the line.

Stop expecting alpha time that requires additional hours.
