SAN Engineer Interview Experience - United States

Process

The interview process started initially with an HR screen and evaluation of interest in the role, while gathering financial requirements/expectations.

Next, there is an interview with a peer of the same/similar role, where you have the opportunity to speak to your resume and relevant experience.

Then, there is the standardized test, which falls under an NDA. But basically, it's a logic skill assessment and a programming assessment (yes, even if you are not a programmer). There is an additional assessment for personality and aptitude.

I was screened out at this point and lacked details or a singular reason for being declined the next step.

'Thank you for taking the time to consider a position with Epic. While we respect your achievements and appreciate your interest in applying, after careful consideration, we've decided to move forward with other candidates.'

The next step, as I read on their website, would be an all-day on-site interview process.

The process, once I was at the 'testing phase,' felt rather de-humanizing, more so after receiving the automated response and being shown the door. I'm sure this is to help them move through candidates, but it felt rather contradictory to the culture I was interested in at the start and initial interactions.
