Software Engineer (Internship) Interview Experience - United States

January 17, 2021
Neutral ExperienceNo Offer

Process

Matched with the company through a recruiting company.

Started with an exam that had a 2-minute rapid-fire math problem section, a section that tested your ability to learn a new programming language, and a 3-hour programming section made up of 4 LeetCode easy-medium problems. The test was proctored by a third-party company over video.

Heard back a little over a week later asking to schedule a final round interview over video because of Covid. The interview consisted of:

  • 50 minutes pitching Epic to us and demonstrating their products
  • 20 minutes Q/A with a current developer
  • 50 minutes explaining a personal project with a developer
  • 50 minutes (actually shorter) talking with HR about my future plans.

Questions

Explain a personal project of yours in depth.
