Software Engineer Interview Experience - Seattle, Washington

Process

The interview process involved initial screens followed by an onsite component. The onsite behavioral questions were the usual.

The company interviews in batches, which suggests cost-cutting measures.

However, here are two reasons why I would not recommend interviewing with them:

  1. They do not reimburse locals for transportation, which speaks volumes about their frugality.
  2. One of the interviews involved the interviewer misrepresenting how Java works and expecting me to correct them. The interviewer also exhibited a condescending, know-it-all attitude. For example, they suggested that Strings behave like arrays in Java. I highly doubt they were unaware that Strings are immutable. While it's acceptable to ask probing questions, intentionally misleading candidates reveals a lot about their values.
