Marketplace Quality Specialist Interview Experience - San Francisco, California

Process

Passed the screening and take-home assignment, only to be rejected after a two-hour, four-part interview.

The interview consisted of four 30-minute sessions with three marketplace quality team members and one HR representative.

First, I spoke with an Operations Associate who reviewed the role and asked generic questions about my past experience. She was polite.

The second round was with the HR representative, who asked various questions to gauge my fit with Faire’s values. The questions asked made it seem as if they were looking for the next world savior, not a quality analyst.

The third round was with a Senior Operations Associate who asked similar questions to the first interviewer but was more interested in the logic and data behind my answers. "How, why, results? insert data term"

Finally, it was the hiring manager’s turn. She was five minutes late, and this is where my brain got tired. When she asked her questions, she used acronyms and uncommon words like “heuristic,” which made me slip up and stutter while answering. I bounced back, but the damage was done. Her entire attitude changed, and she was done with questions after ten minutes. She rushed me through my questions and gloated that she’d be getting thirteen minutes back.
