Pros

Sports retail is an interesting market to be in. Managing League stores is very fun. Discounts are a plus if you're a sports fan.

Standard benefits package:

  • Commuter
  • 401K
  • Dental
  • Vision
  • Medical

Has dynamic time off, but it is barely used because of the amount of work and the team sizing. It seemed as if I was always on call.

Cons

Bro culture.

Top-down driven tech initiatives.

Silos.

Toxic leadership during outages.

Does not pay as much as other Silicon Valley companies.

Advice to Management

The Tech team at Fanatics is one of the best I've seen. They really care about the mission.

The leadership does not seem to be listening. There is no company training, barely any documentation (if any exists, it is hard to find), and lots of cross-team fighting as well as fighting inside silos.

Not a whole lot of diversity in the higher levels of the Tech Division, mostly male, with not too much racial diversity.
