LEAP Software Engineer Interview Experience - Dallas, Texas
Process
After the initial digital video-recorded questionnaire, HR interviews you and gives you plenty of advice and feedback on your answers to prepare you for the final interview with the tech team. In the final interview, the tech team/individual usually asks you to solve problems while talking out loud, while they judge and nudge you in the right direction. My final interview for LEAP Full Stack Developer went well, and I was able to solve two problems with the interviewer. I didn't get the offer, though. The reason they mentioned was a lack of front-end experience, which was something the interviewer didn't even ask about during the interview because I did have experience in that area, which I would have explained given the chance. It's kind of confusing, but at least they keep you informed, and HR is really nice.

It is essentially 4 more months of college after you graduate. Lots of hand-holding and forced classroom-style learning. Instructor-led training is mostly a waste of time here. There's a high chance that you will be working with an outdated tech stack after LEAP. You may also be placed into an unfavorable role with little to no technical mentorship and with minimal transferrable skills. They will try to tell you that Fidelity is a "tech company that does finance," but this is not the case. In short, not a great place for new software engineers. If you have another offer, I would highly recommend considering working elsewhere.
