Remote work may be made available, depending upon department/manager/director. Salaries are more marketable only at the expense of layoffs.
Merit review is based on "ranking." If you are not the best performer in your department, there's no raise. You risk not receiving a profit-sharing cash payout (if one is awarded).
Those who don't perform in the top percentile risk being terminated. That's not an environment you want to work in or be a part of.
The current merit process eliminates the "team" environment and replaces it with every man/woman for himself, which is ripe for backstabbing, finger pointing, and a non-collaborative atmosphere.
Current management is totally focused on the bottom line with a heartless approach to managing associates. It took the "old" company almost twenty years (2000 - 2019) to evolve into an "associate centric" company, which was formulated from associate feedback and termination questionnaires. During this time, seven corporate pillars were implemented to help guide and reshape corporate culture for the better. It was a refreshing place to work.
The revised corporate culture has been totally obliterated within a manner of 2 years by the "new" management. What is worse, the old culture of "quality customer service both internally and externally" is a faint memory. It has been replaced with a technology-focused company that delivers insurance. It resembles nothing of what Leo and Lillian Goodwin created some 80 years ago.
Potential workers beware!
The hiring manager arrived ten minutes late and insisted the interview be rescheduled. However, he had time to list off a few technical questions. I was very turned off by his tone. It sounds like a manager I would not have wanted to work for anyway.
Had 3 LeetCode interviews, but after that, was supposed to be system design and behavioral. I’d say the process was smooth, but they had terrible interviewers that didn’t communicate whatsoever during interviews.
Pretty standard: coding, plus system design and behavioral. There were two system design interviews, and the coding interview was somewhat challenging. If you have done these sorts of interviews before, you will do well.
