Process

This was my second interview for a job, but this interviewing process was different from my other interviews. The GM hiring process can be split into four parts.

The first part of the interview is a HireVue video interview where you answer some simple behavior questions and you also complete three simple analytical/IQ games.

Then you move on to the second part of the interview, which is a coding challenge. The difficulty may depend. I read some do not even go through the coding challenge; some get an easy challenge, and some get a hard challenge, but this can depend based on many factors.

Once you have completed the HireVue stuff, you get to talk to the recruiter. My recruiter was awesome, and I enjoyed speaking with her. I could tell she was exhausted from probably repeating the same lines to every candidate, but she did an amazing job overall.

The “Final Round” is a two-part interview, and your answers will be based on a S.T.A.R. format (look it up).

The first hour was more of a technical interview with someone in Arizona, and the audio was bad. I will admit it started off rocky, but I felt that I recovered after the first question. I think I was doing good up until she asked about a framework, a programming language, and some skills not listed in my resume and/or in the job description. At this point, I knew I was not going to be considered.

The second part of the “Final Round” was more of a behavioral interview, and this guy was amazing! This guy had a passion for what he did, and it showed.

Overall, I was looking forward to working here. I even gave up an opportunity elsewhere to try and land this job, but I did not get it.

Anyways, this was my interview experience, and I hope it helps someone.
