Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

The process took about 2 months.

They started with a HireVue interview where you answer 5 STAR-style questions. You have two attempts for each question. For myself, I took the first attempt as practice and the second attempt to formulate a response and rehearse it before giving it.

A few weeks later, I was asked to complete another HireVue interview, this time an automated coding challenge. I received two very easy LeetCode-style questions that took far less time than the time given.

A few more weeks later, I was asked to schedule a phone screening. I was given a brief description of the job and to schedule an interview, as well as ask the screener any questions I might have.

The final interview consisted of two separate 1-hour Skype interviews where you are asked various STAR-style questions by current software engineers, as well as a few technical questions depending on what you have on your resume.

Three days afterwards, GM reached out to me with a verbal offer.
