Good benefits and decent pay.
GM has one of the worst cultures I have ever experienced in my entire career. There's micromanagement up and down in the IT organization. Most of the managers are not even qualified to become managers; they are just there due to their bosses' favoritism/politics.
Developer's life is a complete mess. Everything is slowly being pushed to developers (testing, operations).
PLEASE AVOID GM IT IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE. IT'S A TRAP!
Overhaul the entire IT organization, or the future is really dark. It's a sinking Titanic.
Applied online, got a call from a recruiter, had an initial phone screen, an on-site interview with two technical managers. Two weeks later, got the verbal offer and was negotiating the offer.
There were only 2 total interviews with GM. The first came about 2 weeks after my application and was a non-proctored technical assessment in an online IDE. The questions were very simple; I would rate them a 4/10 level of difficulty, with a 5/10 bei
Overall positive! It was a two-way interview process; first telephone and then in person. Mostly talk about your current projects and previous experiences. STAR-based questions and other technical questions.
