I had a phone screen with an internal Talent Partner. They were great at their job.
Next was a follow-up with the hiring manager. This conversation was pretty awkward. It was rushed and felt like there was a script the person was following to the letter, without space for natural conversation flow.
I finished without any idea how the conversation went. It was very abstract, and I'm not sure how they would have inferred how I'd perform on the job, unless the role involved a lot of philosophical Q&A.
I feel like this style of interviewing self-selects for people who are trained to be "good at interviewing" rather than determining who would actually be good in a role.
