Having been at one FAANG company and one startup, I can say my team at Glean is by far my favorite. It feels like everyone has my back and helps wherever possible. No one is out for credit; we just want to get it done.
Tech standards are insanely high. I never feel pressured to create tech debt; I'm always encouraged to get it right. There are a few truly world-class engineers from whom I've learned a lot.
Passionate users and customers. It's personally fulfilling to see the amount of productivity gained across our users and hear their love. We even measure it in terms of lifetimes saved ;)
Business trajectory. Growth is looking inevitable and predictable. There's high upside for equity.
Lots of urgent customer issues. Firefighting takes up a lot of time.
Facilities. There's no real IT or support you get at bigger companies. So disruptive things happen like wifi going out, coffee maker breaking, snacks running out, and video conferencing breaking. There's not enough meeting rooms, and desk density is too high.
3 rounds total (not including recruiter call): * 1-hour technical coding interview * HM behavioral interview with standard questions digging into resume, past projects, and handling difficult situations * Virtual on-site (45-minute algorithmic codin
Introductory call, then I was asked to sign an NDA before the next calls. I was uninterested in signing an NDA after a single introductory phone call with a prospective employer.
I applied through LinkedIn. I scheduled the recruiter call and technical interview. After that, I had a technical interview and got a rejection right after the technical phone screen. It took within two weeks.
