Had a 1:1 with an engineering lead that included behavioral questions and a brain-teaser/algorithm coding exercise on HackerRank.
Was ghosted.
The interview itself wasn't terrible, but I was disappointed that the FizzBuzz/algo/brain-teaser question was part of their interview process. Many engineering leads and managers in the industry have spoken out against this practice, as it has been proven to be a poor evaluation tactic.
Additionally, the question was apparently a custom problem, but the interviewer entered it into the platform incorrectly, leading to the loss of several minutes of time through no fault of my own. In fact, my own debugging helped identify the problem.
This problem is similar to LeetCode 848: Shifting Letters, with a slight variation.
It is also called "Roll The String".
