Software Engineer Interview Experience - Kirkland, Washington

Process

I applied online, and after two to three weeks, a recruiter contacted me. He was very helpful and friendly. We had an initial 30-minute phone interview where he explained the company and the interview process. He then scheduled me for two back-to-back technical phone interviews, each lasting one hour.

They asked standard problem-solving questions (not very advanced) and one design question. I performed well, and the recruiter invited me to visit for a physical interview.

They arranged everything, and I was scheduled to arrive two days before the interview and depart one day after. However, while traveling, I encountered some problems due to flight delays. I finally arrived one day late and had lost my bag. I needed to be ready for the interview the next morning.

I asked the recruiter if they could postpone the interview by one day, explaining that it wasn't fair to interview someone who had been traveling for two days and was suffering from severe jet lag. They refused.

I proceeded with the interview, which consisted of six back-to-back sessions. The difficulty of the questions varied, and it was necessary to write code quickly to complete them.

Questions

I can't really tell about the question, but they vary between different problem-solving questions, like trees, string manipulations, and complex recursion.
