Software Engineer Interview Experience - Mountain View, California

Process

A recruiter contacted me based on my resume, stemming from a prior application more than 4 years ago. I sent an updated resume and references of classmates currently working at the company. Based on prior interviews and references, there was no phone interview. The recruiter set up an on-site interview.

Questions were all based on algorithms, data structures, and problem-solving skills. I had to write code on the board. I was able to give a general direction and could not solve the problem completely at all times. I did decently well but did not meet the expectations of one or more interviewers. However, it was a positive experience.
