Process

I was contacted by a recruiter through an internal referral. I completed two rounds of phone interviews and an on-site interview.

The on-site interview was very tiring but challenging. I believe I lacked the confidence to present myself as smart, stemming from being too focused on solving problems. I even stated aloud how proud I was for finding a solution to a problem, which did not help my case; I was just so excited.

Thus, I think it is important to stay on top of your game and look and sound sharp and smart during interviews.

I have a PhD in Computer Science and also had a mini-thesis defense interview. This part of the interview consisted of defending my research against another expert in my field (AI). It was challenging, and I was not prepared for it as I had focused my preparation on the CS interview questions.

Therefore, PhDs, please be prepared to defend your thesis!

I am currently preparing to interview there for a second time.
