The process is extremely long, considering the answer can be negative. The person has to want to work there TOO MUCH, in addition to having no other option due to the time this selection process takes.
I started the process because a recruiter recommended me for a specific position. I asked for 2 weeks to prepare for the first interview and, after that, I did all the subsequent ones as early as possible. Even so, before finishing the interview about Googleyness, the position was filled.
