Process
I applied online and received an email invite for a technical phone interview. It went pretty quickly, with just one question.

Great WLB, Slow Growth
Software Engineer • Former Employee
New York, New York, United States
August 26, 2025
Pros: Great work-life balance with a very chill work culture, good competitive pay and benefits for big tech, and a very nice office with great food and amenities.
Cons: Team dependent, but for me (Ads), it's not good for learning. It's too slow; it would take very long to get things pushed due to back and forth and slow reviews.

Google SWE 7+ YOE
Software Engineer • Former Employee
Mountain View, California, United States
June 6, 2025
Pros: Interesting product opportunities on teams. There's a chance for global impact, all the way down to organizational impact, depending on your preference.
Free food, great pay, the works.
Would recommend.
Cons: Competitive promotion culture: You are competing with your peers and sometimes with your TLs, usually over who gets credit for what or who was most to blame if something didn't quite go according to the original plan.
Keep an accurate record of the work you've completed and maintain the documentation. It will matter.
