A friend from Google referred me. I was contacted by a recruiter two weeks later and received reference materials about the interview. The recruiter quickly scheduled a phone interview.

I had nine rounds of interviews and a scheduled tenth round, for which the interviewer never showed up. Interviewers were frequently distracted (e.g., on their cellphones). Some interviewers were paying attention, though.
