The entire process was extremely unprofessional, bordering on unethical and rude.
I had a referral from a friend, so I was expedited to the team.
Talking with employees and managers all went smoothly. The process went awry when I had to interface with HR. HR called me twice to ask about salary expectations and what not, without once updating me about timelines or at what stage of the interview I was at.
Afterwards, HR said they would give me numbers by the end of the week. Three weeks later, they replied, saying circumstances had changed within the team, with some internal reshuffling. As a result, they would not officially reject me but told me to proceed with other offers.
