One productive day wasted. They are slow, really slow, but that is just in the Bangalore office. It took them three weeks to send an automated rejection email. That's shallow. There wasn't even a rejection email from HR. I'm sure their hiring process is much better in other countries, but definitely not in India. We Indians can ruin anything, no matter how reputed it is, just like Grab.
The questions were irrelevant to the role of a DevOps engineer, not a software engineer. They asked about the internals of MongoDB or RabbitMQ. I was hoping at least a manager would ask questions on design patterns, system architecture, or something related to what the job entails.
I couldn't answer these. Nor can I answer these questions if asked in the future, because testing someone on the knowledge of frameworks and libraries gives a very shallow understanding of their knowledge. It's a pity I was expecting much more from Grab. The manager was well-behaved, but he himself seemed unsure of what to ask or how to evaluate.
