I was contacted by a recruiter who informed me they were coming to Toronto to conduct interviews en masse.

I attended the interviews and met with four different people. All four asked a few questions about my resume before presenting a battery of technical problems.

One interviewer was very vague with their questions and refused to answer any clarification requests. Another had a severe language barrier, making it difficult to understand the questions. The remaining two interviewers were clear and engaging.

As I was leaving, I confirmed with the receptionist that they do, in fact, contact candidates with a decision either way.

After returning home, I never heard anything back from them. It has been just shy of two months, and I haven't heard from anyone. Contacting the recruiter twice has only resulted in messages of "I'll look into it and get back to you" without any follow-up. The promise of reimbursing me for travel expenses remains unfulfilled.

I'm not disappointed about not receiving an offer, but I am more than disappointed with the lack of communication regarding it.

The battery of tests unfortunately only gave them knowledge of my ability to solve programming contest problems on paper. There were nearly no questions that would provide insight into my potential as an employee or my ability to work within a team.

Not the most difficult, but the one I remember best.

"You need to create a queue, but you're only allowed to do stacks. How do you do it?" With follow-up questions about time and space complexity.
