What makes work worth it is the people, and Guidewire has a good environment from the executives all the way down. The company cares about the world, the environment, current events, and its employees.
I can see there is a growing push to get employees back in the office. I get management's desire to do so, but is it really necessary? I argue no, it is not important for everyone to drive in every day, waste gas and time, and pollute the environment.
Looking at the trends in each campus or physical location, and at the employees' willingness and actual attendance in returning.
Some offices are more willing to return, and some are more resisting. Take cues from what you see the actual return-to-office demand is and adjust the office footprint to reflect this.
I say this even knowing my job duties are married to the willingness of others to return.
With the remaining footprint, consider adding/converting existing spaces to something that will help draw people in organically.
I suggest converting a large conf room to a yoga, Pilates, or similar studio. Through a partnership with a local facility, you can offer classes to employees and even add a Zoom element to allow employees to attend remotely. You would not have to staff it with a Guidewire employee.
It could be a win-win to draw people back and offer a wellness program simultaneously.
First round with the Director. There was no greeting, and the interviewer directly jumped to a question. The question was to design an Iterator, which was very tricky. The interviewer was helpful in guiding, but did not give any extra time. Overall,
Interview Structure: * Codility test (2 rounds) * Pair programming (2 rounds) * System design (1 round) * Managerial (1 round) The interviewers were comforting and did not focus heavily on LeetCode problems. They also included me in daily meetings
Recruiter call (30 minutes) 1 round coding: Online assessment 1 round technical: 1 hour with hiring manager Panel interview: 3 panelists (including Product Manager and Senior Architect) for half an hour each.
