Process

This was one of the worst interviews I've ever had with a company.

I applied and was contacted by an internal recruiter to schedule a phone screen. The recruiter canceled the call via email at the last minute twice in a row, though apologized and asked to reschedule both times.

For the third attempt, we finally connected:

  • They called a few minutes late.
  • They had to call me back because their phone wasn't working at first.
  • Their phone started cutting out on them for about every third word partway through the call.
  • They interrupted the interview and put me on hold during the call for a minute or two to accept delivery of a package (they were working from home).
  • They made a big point of saying I had short stints on my resume (hello, startups) and asked me to tell them why I had left every single job on my resume. I began to do so, and then they interrupted me and said we needed to move on.
  • With one minute of the 30-minute block left (which had many minutes chewed up between the lateness, their technical issues, and them putting me on hold for the package delivery), they asked me if I had questions for them. I started to ask one, and then they interrupted and said they had another call (and that I basically needed to hurry up).
