I applied to what I thought was an engineering position at Gusto, but it turned out to be a position at a company they had recently acquired.
There was a phone screen with a company recruiter, followed by an interview preparation call with the same recruiter.
The interview process included:
- A technical paired programming interview
- Two more technical paired programming interviews
- An architecture interview
- Two culture and behavioral interviews
Questions
The first interview involved parsing log data to group and aggregate datasets.
The second interview was about dispersing payments among a given dataset with variable payment amounts and a specified budget.
The architecture interview focused on database and API design for a polling application.
The behavioral interviews consisted of standard questions about past work experiences.
