Pros: - Very flexible hours. - Lack of vision and leadership makes for easy-to-hit deadlines. - Lots of energizing and fun co-workers. - Incredibly high pay.

Cons: Despite the flexibility and slow-moving nature of the company, this is not a place to grow your career. It's very easy to get stuck here hoping leadership will either be replaced or finally learn how to run a company, as you cheer for the mission. But you realize after a year that you stuck around because of the high salary and vision that will never come to fruition. Leadership is inexperienced and needs to be replaced. No one knows how to run a digital subscription company, and the few external people brought in with this experience always end up leaving within months. The engineering team is a black hole that moves at an inexcusable pace given their size, and nothing major has changed with the product since I joined the team 1.5 years ago. We've tripled in size, but the product has stayed the same. The company is burning cash and not producing subscribers.

Pros: I'm a long-time meditator, so I'm thrilled to be working at a company that's trying to bring the practice to the world. It's been a great benefit to me, and I hope it can be as beneficial to others. As an engineer, I've found the team to be incredibly thoughtful, open-minded, and invested in creating a high-quality product. Senior management seems genuinely invested in keeping the whole company informed, happy, productive, and focused on our mission. Work-life balance is also amazing – I arrive at 9 and leave at 5 each day. The office is also an awesome space – I genuinely look forward to coming to work each day.

Cons: The company is growing really fast, which adds a fair amount of chaos to the environment. It also leads to things like fairly frequent reorganizations, as we have to create new structures to accommodate the growing team.

Pros: It used to be a great place to work, with great perks and empathetic co-workers. There used to be 4.5-day workweeks (every other Friday off) and remote work focused around some core hours. However, other than some lovely folks working there, these perks are no more.

Cons: Incredibly disorganized with no clear pathway to profitability. Mass benefit cuts, but no increase in pay. The 4.5-day workweeks are gone, and the CEO just announced RTO with no clear justification. Poor work-life balance and huge amounts of technical debt. They claim they have achieved recent profitability, but it's only because of mass cost reduction through layoffs, people leaving, and outsourcing.
