Process
The process was absolutely amazing. Everyone was humble and friendly, truly reflective of all the positive reviews I’ve read so far. This aligns with most posts here for SWE.
The interview consisted of:
- A 3-hour coding assessment
- A 4.5-hour virtual onsite
The coding questions were LeetCode medium.
There were two system design rounds:
- Design TinyURL
- Design a weather widget

Lots of ownership and impact even as company grows
Cons: The flip side of ownership makes prioritization hard. There are more things to build than time to build them.

Pros: Great office, flexible working hours, great perks, great autonomy for teams, great people to work with, and a great place to learn and grow. Great product!
Cons: The food provided (breakfast and lunch) is really not good. I feel like I'm eating low-cost student food for a long time now. I feel like the free food is more like a marketing thing to attract people, but once you start working there, you realize it would be way better to have a slightly higher salary and no food at all.
Especially if we're trying to compare with Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Intercom, etc. HubSpot needs to realize that having free food in Dublin is not really a perk anymore.

Pros: HubSpot moves fast and invests in its people. While at HubSpot, I have seen a massive effort to improve internal tools and to ensure people have what they need to get the job done.
You are able to make a large impact because you are responsible for what you do and you own the things you are working on.
Cons: Things can get hectic very quickly as things move fast. If you aren't into that, it could be an issue.
