I was contacted by a recruiter at HubSpot about a web development position recently. The process began with a brief call with the recruiter to discuss the position, followed by a short, informal in-person meeting, and then a full-length in-person interview.
During the phone screen and the first in-person meeting, no technical questions were asked. These discussions focused on my experience, the role, and the company culture. The individuals I met were all extremely friendly and inviting. Great job, everyone at HubSpot!
They invited me back for an actual interview about a week after the first meeting. In the interview, I spoke with about six different people with whom I would be working. I was asked a few technical CSS questions and to explain my process for developing new features for a website or software.
I loved the people and the office environment, but they decided not to extend an offer because they could tell I wasn't interested in the work, which is true. I am okay with that. It was a good experience overall, and I would recommend them.
