Automation Testing Interview Experience - Bengaluru, India

Process

I was contacted by the recruitment team for an interview. The questions asked were Java coding questions and some basic questions on Selenium.

The next day, the recruitment team called to say I was not selected and asked for one more technical round for another project. I agreed to it.

In the second technical interview, the interviewer asked questions on Selenium and TestNG. The second interviewer kept me on hold for five minutes on WebEx and then another five minutes on the phone. This was really unprofessional. Additionally, they asked for my expected salary.

It seems that people at IBM will reject candidates if they feel their salary expectations are too high.

I haven't heard back, but I'm sure I will not be selected this time.

In both cases, the interviewers seemed to have less experience than me.

I am an ex-IBM employee, and this process definitely gives a bad impression to candidates.

Please streamline your process with some recording, so that candidates are evaluated on their abilities, not their salary.
