This interview confirmed my citizenship, my reasons for wanting to work for IBM, my knowledge of IBM (its past and current offerings), and my university transcript.
This interview started with an introduction of myself, my interest in IT, and discussions about projects and subjects listed on my CV. (The more topics of interest on your CV, the more conversation starters, the better.) Next, a formal "test" covered reasonably simple SHELL commands, some programming questions, and networking questions. The test was not multiple choice or yes/no, but required you to know how to answer and how to respond appropriately to questions you didn't know the answer to. Simply answer honestly and avoid making up answers or panicking.
What is an ephemeral port?
