I applied through a recruiting website. Within a week, I had a telephone screening. A week after that, I was told I would be asked to do an online aptitude test. The following week, I received a link for the online aptitude test with a username and password. I was busy, so four days after receiving it, I took the test. It was based on mathematical problems and series. For every question, you get 2 minutes and 15 seconds. Some questions I answered in less time. For some questions, it wasn't enough time.
I took the test on Thursday. On Monday, I received an email stating that I had passed the aptitude test and would be attending an assessment center. I received an invitation for the assessment center, but with no details except "please" and the date. A week before the actual date of the assessment, I received an email explaining that the assessment center would comprise two group exercises, a business competency interview, and a technical interview. All the candidates who attended the assessment center had applied for different roles, so they were not competitors. We were divided into two groups. While one group had interviews, the other did group exercises. Our group had an interview first.
My interview process was very relaxed. I wasn't asked technical questions, even in the technical interview. Basically, they wanted to know about me. It is really hard to know what they made out of the interview process. I was taking part in a group exercise for the first time, but I really enjoyed it.
In the first exercise, the group was tasked with making decisions for organizing an IBM apprenticeship seminar. Decisions included venue, marketing the event, choosing representatives for the event, and budgeting the event based on given information. For this exercise, there isn't any right or wrong answer.
In the second exercise, everyone in the group was given partial information for a logical problem. Every member had a different set of information, so you had to constantly communicate to solve this logical problem. There is only one solution for it. You work as a group to reach the solution.
We were told we would be informed within a week about the outcome of the process. After a week, I received an email stating it would be one more week before we could know the result. So, I am expecting an answer in the next four days.
Tell me about yourself.
How do you deal with stress?
What technologies do you use in your everyday life, and what do you like about them?
Where do you want to see yourself in 5 years' time?
