The job is an entry-level software developer position with two rounds of interviews.
The first round occurred approximately 2-3 weeks after I applied. As I am local, I was asked to come onsite and spoke with two software developers. The interview lasted about an hour and included questions on algorithms and object-oriented design (OOD).
The second round took place about three weeks after the first. I was interviewed by the hiring manager and two software developers. This interview lasted approximately two hours. The technical questions were similar to those in the first round. Additionally, the hiring manager spent 15 minutes describing the position in detail, followed by questions such as, "How do you like the position?", "Why?", and "What kind of job do you like?" I gave an honest, but perhaps not ideal, answer: "I like this job because it is local."
After the second interview, I heard nothing for a month. They then informed me that they had decided not to move forward with my application.
