Pros: IBM is very flexible and allows remote work with no further questions whenever it is possible, especially if you are in a support role. Also, you are exposed to many technologies and IBM products and have the chance to interact with other teams.
Cons: The facilities are not as modern as you would expect from a multinational. There are not even free beverages such as tea and coffee. The workplace is made up of a much older crowd, so depending on your age, you might feel a bit left out. Also, even though you are probably working within a team, you will feel that the lack of individual feedback is a problem.

Pros: - Fantastic opportunities to learn about many different things.
- Rotation between teams is possible.
- Lots of very smart people willing to help out.
- Generally exciting projects; often you will go from being just one person researching something and the next thing you know it is a large scale team effort across countries.
- Pre-covid, travel was common, including conferences and meetups.
- Agile working and good use of communication tools ensure remote working isn't a problem.
Cons: You will not always be in a role that best suits your previous skills and experience; it depends on the business needs. But it is your career, and you can rotate.
It can be stressful when it's deadline time and you're on a must-fix defect, but that comes with the territory. You will be challenged.
