Stay away from the CIC

Pros: You will meet talented engineers if you get to work with those outside of the CIC.
If your skills are lacking, for whatever reason, this is a good place to learn on your own and get where you need to go.
Cons: The salary is laughable compared to the national average.
Promotion is non-existent.
The CIC has a band cap, so you won't get that far.
The projects will set you up for failure because all of the technology is ancient.
Management is basically lying to your face so you won't leave.
You will have to have some serious connections to leave the CIC and get on IBM's real pay scale.

Great management.
Great colleagues and strong leadership.
Flexible work hours and loads of opportunities and resources to become an expert at what you do.
Cons: No cons at all. Might be hard to get noticed because it is such a big company.
