Getting your foot in the door. A chance of getting lucky and actually learn what you expect to learn (coding, programming, etc.).
You might get your hopes up and expect too much from this program. Not all apprentices get the same treatment or opportunities.
Some apprentices were actually taught to program and were exposed to a vast array of skills. You get an IBM apprenticeship that lists all the skills we were supposed to have learned, yet my team was limited to SAP only.
Be transparent and disclose all expectations. Practice what you preach. You would constantly hear about letting people decide their career future, but in practice, that opportunity is not given.
