Pros
  1. Free Udemy access, so you can learn any new technology on your own.
  2. Work-life balance is also good, unless a highest-priority bug comes into production.
Cons
  1. Manager centric company. Mostly managers here are very unprofessional. Too much power is given into managers' hands, so they can destroy your career at IBM if they want.

  2. Senior employees at IBM are in their comfort zone and are good for nothing. They don't put any effort into learning, and whatever they learned in the early stages of their careers, they have forgotten. This causes junior employees to work too much as seniors just pass orders. Also, sometimes they ask to do things that are not technically possible. And once time is wasted on implementing these unrealistic things, they will start panicking and begin putting pressure on junior employees that the deadline is very near. Complete the task on time.

  3. Poor hikes and very low salaries as per current market standards.

Advice to Management
  1. Managers' powers should be reduced, and proper training should be provided to managers on how to behave with employees of the organization.
  2. The salary bar for each band should be increased by at least 5 LPA; otherwise, all good resources will leave, and only incompetent employees will be left at IBM.
  3. Senior employees' performance should be judged on what they deliver independently rather than on working in a team along with junior members.
