Pros
  • Supremely flexible work time
  • Supremely flexible leave policies
  • Good for long-term employment or for experienced professionals who want to finish their service career from here.
  • Great opportunity to learn from knowledge repositories.
  • You'll get more than enough time to adapt to or learn new technologies.
Cons
  • Poor hike. If you want a hike, then move to 2-3 companies and come back here. They are ready to give you your expected CTC.

  • Freshers will be ruined because the chunk of good work for freshers is almost negligible. Mostly, you'll be doing documentation work. Your worth after 2-4 years will be nothing compared to your competitors in the market.

  • Switching from here to startup companies is very difficult due to a 3-month notice period. Startups mostly prefer below 1.5-2 months.

  • Managers (in projects) are everything. HRs are almost unhelpful to you.

  • Learning new tech is easy. Switching to work for new tech within IBM is very, very difficult.

Advice to Management

Do not centralize decision-making powers to only project management entities. Create equally strong poles with authoritative powers so that employees concerned can be taken care of. Generally, employees are stuck with issues, and everyone ends up thinking that employees themselves are guilty. Who will not be happy with the company after this much flexibility and perks? (But it's not true).
