Pros

Unofficial WFH. But in case your manager is not happy with his manager, you will be screwed up.

Cons

Join only if you want to work in Bangalore or Kolkata. In other locations, there are not many projects. Most employees are forced to move to these locations soon after they join.

IBM HRs are good in human trafficking. They give you an offer letter from the location you want to work in, and once you join, they force you to join in another location you don't want to.

Forget about variable pay. It's 10% or less, not more, not even 1 rupee more than that.

Forget about upgrading your skills. You will even lose your current skills. IBM managers are highly talented in cheating their clients and getting silly requirements as projects, and they pass them on to you. So, you will not be able to apply your current skills for a long time.

Forget about your market value. After spending a couple of years in IBM, you will start seeing people with less experience than you in better positions than you, or maybe as your team leads. Basically, they just need to have English speaking skills. Technical skills are not the primary factor. I recall my school English teacher's_ Cuse, he would have been my manager's manager by now.

Forget about hikes. It's a daydream for many IBMers. Even if you do a strip dance, these managers won't throw a single rupee. So, no matter what your rating is and how good you perform, you won't get a single rupee in 4 years.

Forget about promotion. They are not even giving hikes. What else do you want me to tell you about promotion? Forget it. There's no guarantee even after 5 years if you join as 6B. If you want to move from 7A to 7B, by then, your kid will complete his schooling for sure.

Advice to Management

Leave your jobs and help your ladies at home, instead of screwing someone's life.
