This review is only regarding the IBM ISL Pune department.
Team members and management are really talented, friendly, motivating, and caring.
WFH facility: Though the WFH policy was canceled from 2017, we can opt for WFH during festival and rainy seasons.
Management is so caring that they asked employees to first look for a job then resign. During the job-cut period, many of my team members shifted to other internal, nice products.
Flexible times.
Access to cool IBM infrastructure: mainframe, Unix systems, databases, GitIBM, Bluemix, Watson, and lots and lots of VMs (I have 60+) for different OS/servers.
Awesome trainings (online trainings are a lot better than third-party classroom trainings).
Support for patent filing. If you are an innovative geek, just join IBM ISL.
Band 6 A/B must be given a 6-12 package. I am stuck in the lowest package, and the hike is just 0.2 or 0.3 per year. Hence, I am looking for a new job, as it's depressing watching friends with the same or less experience getting 50-80% more package than you.
There is no coffee machine, refrigerator, snacks, or gaming facilities. Pool boards have been broken for years, and table tennis is only available for those who have a play-kit. There's no management of these facilities.
There are no trips, on-site opportunities (ISL is product-based), or parties. Management funds are always low!
Once you are stuck in an incorrect product, you will be stuck in it forever. So, just make sure of the technologies and the nature of the product. Maintenance-mode legacy products are boring.
You cannot switch internally at all unless a manager allows it, and that never happens.
I was unable to clear the coding test of IBM. It was based on HackerRank competitive programming and was at a difficult level. I am going to practice more HackerRank questions now.
Applied for a developer role requiring Core and Advanced Java at IBM ISL Pune. 1. Technical Round: This was a face-to-face interview conducted by two Advisory Software Developers, focusing on general Java questions. 2. Interview Follow-up: I receiv
1. Programming round + technical round: This was quite difficult. The technical MCQ questions were easy; there were 5 questions and 1 programming question. 2. Two game-based rounds. 3. Behavioral round. You will receive an email for the interview. 4.
