I don't have many pros. I would at least say, based on my negative review, don't come to IBM until the current senior management leaves and there are actual good leaders who care.
Or maybe do come and fight the good fight here with those of us trying to change the company by being vocal. Any rebels out there, come join this century-old company and shake things up. It sure needs it. :-)
IBM is forcing its employees to return to the office while also lying about having actual data to back up its reasons for this decision. IBMers have made it very clear to upper management that they want their flexibility to choose how they work, not to be told how to work. The numbers IBM does have, but is denying they exist, show how during the pandemic, when everyone was working remotely, we produced the most amount of revenue the company has seen in years. It's interesting IBM is choosing to omit that. I am not saying that folks out there who like coming into the office should be remote too. No, I am saying IBMers want the freedom of choice to decide what works best for them, not for IBM to be mandating exactly what upper management wants. It really is despicable. What is worse, if this company would get its act together, the people who are not in upper management are lovely people and the best co-workers (I guess I do have a pro there). But I will say the few, like the CEO and Senior Leadership, are ruining it for the many.
Actually listen to your employees. Don't just sit on your high horse and make decisions that clearly do not work for your employees.
Move into the future and be completely flexible with how your workers work. Hybrid work is fully the new future, with no more mandates. We the people chose how we work, not senior management.
All of the 1-star ratings are for you, senior management. If I could give negative stars, I would.
The first round was a coding round, using HackerRank. It contained two easy-to-medium questions. I guess you need to solve both to move to the next round. I solved one, but could not solve the other.
What is VSAM? Types of VSAM. SQLCODEs. Empty file check. Ways to pass data from JCL to COBOL. Static vs. dynamic call. Query to find the second highest salary. DB2 compilation process.
I have a coding challenge on HackerRank. I'm not sure what that entails, but I will keep you guys updated. I really need to bypass this to see more reviews and be prepared for the upcoming interview.
