Pros
  • Good work/life balance (for now, it's starting to change).
  • LGBTQ+ friendly, with lots of diverse business resource groups.
  • Pension plan (RBA) with a 5% contribution of salary courtesy of the company.
Cons
  • Cutting more and more benefits each year.
  • Cut 401k contributions and switched to an RBA pension plan that has a slower growth rate and no ways to control investments.
  • Pushing high-velocity software delivery and abandoning any quality metrics.
  • Micromanaging: values performance solely on GitHub commits and Jira bug resolution rate.
  • Requirement from management to mark 15% of the workforce as low performance. This affects their salary conversations and blocks them from raises and bonuses. It also makes you compete against coworkers rather than work together.
  • Raises usually only come from promotions. Typically little to no cost-of-living raises.
  • Changes internal tools every one or two years, making it difficult to do work.
