IBM has always been a leader in just about every possible aspect of diversity, from the obvious ones (race, color, and gender) to less obvious but equally important ones like national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, and genetics. I would not work for a company that didn't respect and honor diversity.
While I have no personal experience with it, age discrimination is one facet of diversity that seems to be mentioned often with respect to IBM. There are pending lawsuits making age discrimination assertions, so perhaps it is something to watch.
IBM also has a history of broad layoffs. After a long history of full employment, the first few rounds of layoffs at IBM were mostly merit-based. Over time, however, merit appeared to have less and less to do with layoffs, as entire organizations were eliminated without regard for individual merit.
The new CEO has stated that this approach will not continue, but only time will tell.
Actively demonstrate that age discrimination is not practiced at IBM. Also, ensure that when layoffs are necessary, they are based on individual merit and skills. Actively assist high-performing employees to find new positions when their current position is eliminated.
Interviewed at IBM GBS, Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore. Very bad experience. Unethical people; they don't care about our time. The panel lacks basic interview etiquette. They insulted the candidate and disrespected their time. * I arrived at the of
Very simple. It's a two-step process: 1. Give aptitude. 2. If you clear, there will be document verification followed by a personal interview. The interview was based on projects and academic subjects.
I applied online, then completed a cognitive assessment and a coding challenge. The coding challenge took about 2.5 hours. It included: * Two regular algorithm questions * One DevOps question I am still waiting for an answer.
