The pay at IBM Canada seems to be about at par with current market salaries.
You also have many opportunities to develop and work with cool and groundbreaking products.
If you enjoy a challenge and want to work in a stimulating environment, IBM is the place to be.
People tend to be hired into management generally due to their seniority and not necessarily due to their skills. This does not create an ideal meritocracy, which I believe would be the better platform for promotion. This creates managers that are not suited for their position; they may have been great coders but may not necessarily be suited for a management role.
I believe IBM Canada should create a system of promotion based more on merit rather than seniority. The current checklist-based performance report is very rigid and seems robotic. In addition, it's important to promote employees who have the appropriate skills for the position in question.
Coding challenge with three questions. Technical phone interview. Behavioral phone interview. Onsite technical challenge: Grouped with 6 other people, come up with a proof of concept and a PPT presentation within 2 days, then present it.
I took the OA for the software developer position. It had 3 questions and a 75-minute time limit. * 1 easy * 1 medium * 1 hard The last question was pretty hard. The time wasn't enough for 3 questions.
Four rounds of interviews, of various degrees of difficulty: * Online Assessment: Moderate LeetCode questions. * Two Interviews: * One with a project manager and developer. * Then with the CIC Leader (more behavioral questions). *
